Box Compression Tester

An equipment to test the stacking load carrying capacity of corrugated cartons.

Top to bottom compression strength of corrugated cartons is the most appropriate performance
specification related to stack-ability characteristics and is the index of the overall quality of the
carton.

Special Design :

  • 1 Heavy Duty Ball-Screw and 2 Linear Guides running vertically across each side of the machine. The central beam is mounted between the 2 Ball Screws and 4 Linear Guides.
  • The moving platen is then hung underneath the Central Beam using a universal joint and will give a freely floating platen ( as per TAPPI T 804).
  • There is no separate Height Adjustment and Compression Platen.
  • The Lower platen is always fixed / stationary and the top platen moves to adjust height as well as perform compression test.
  • Provision is provided to lock the platen to convert it from Free-Floating to Fixed Platen type (as per TAPPI T 804).
  • Time required for locking the platen : 2-5 minutes.
