Moisture Determination System (Moisture Oven)
Purpose
To Evaluate the Moisture Content of paper, solid fiber board or corrugated fiber board in sheet form.
Principle
A suitable size of sample is cut and accurately weighed on digital balance to give the Initial wt. of sample. The weighed samples are suspended on the racks in the oven maintained at 102±2°C. Samples lose weight due to evaporation of water till these are bone dry.
Samples are dried for some predetermined time (which is established by previous experiments) say 1 1/2 - 2 hrs depending upon the wt. of the samples.
Loss in weight = final weight - initial weight.
% Moisture = (Loss in weight / Initial weight) x 100
